Vice News Premiere
Vice News and Jigsaw teamed up for a new documentary series examining free expression, or lack thereof, around the world. The series called Blackout, consists of five episodes focusing on different countries where free speech is threatened, and technology's role in exposing the truth and censorship.
For the NYC premiere of the series at FDR Four Freedoms Park, I was tasked with creating a unique experience for 250 guests including spatial layout, impactful photo moments, wayfinding system, and printed collateral design.
Many of the impactful typography focused moments were inspired by true facts about digital censorship. The architecture of the iconic event location heavily influenced the simple yet thoughtful design language.
